SUMMARY:Second Thursday Women Gather in Community
DESCRIPTION:Second Thursday Women Gather in Community\n\nBack by popular\,
we will again gather on Thursdays from 9AM-2PM to explore different topics
with different facilitators.  Participants will have a chance to explore
different avenues of spirituality\, while developing and building communi
ty and connection. Come for one or any number you choose.  All are welcom
e!\n\nTo feel closer to God and others\, to build community\, to grow spir
itually—all require practice.  If we pursue these things only sporadica
lly\, it is hard to build the life we say we want. We are always God’s b
eloved\, but to feel that way requires us to make time for spiritual growt
 h.  This series\, just for women\, will be offered at the Solomon Center
on the second Thursday of each month from October to May and will offer di
fferent modalities for spiritual practice and opportunities to connect wit
h other women seeking to grow spiritually.\n\nFees   $50 per session (mu
st register by the Thursday before each session) Lunch is included.\n\nPac
kage discount $350 (for the package discount please call Tammy Wyllie at 9
85-748-6634)\n\nWould you like to give yourself an extra gift?  Contingen
t upon availability--if you would like to spend the night before or after
the session\, there is a discounted room rate of $130 (single) and $85(dou
ble).  If the center is providing breakfast or supper for another group\,
you may be able to purchase it for an additional fee of $15 for breakfast
and $ 19 for supper.  Reservations for meals must be made at least 7 day
s before the event. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the lodge\, s
o you may bring your own food.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n \n\n\n\n\nOctober 9\nThe Re
 v. Canon Morgan MacIntire\nStrength to Strength:\n\nGetting Clear About Yo
ur Identity\, Your Call and Your Connections\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nIn her memoir
Marrow\, author Elizabeth Lesser shares the profound journey she undertook
following her sister Maggie's cancer diagnosis. She chronicles the inner
battles they faced—together and apart—as they prepared for a life-savi
ng bone marrow transplant. Woven throughout are powerful themes of identit
y\, purpose\, and connection as each sister discovers deeper truths about
herself and the other.\n\nAs women of faith\, we hold a unique call to sup
port\, uplift\, and renew one another in ministry and in daily life. Yet t
hat instinct is often interrupted by inner doubts—feelings of inadequacy
 \, imposter syndrome\, jealousy\, scarcity\, insecurity…the relentless i
nner monologue. How do we quiet the voices that deceive? How do we summon
the courage to do the inner work? And how can gaining clarity about our ow
n call and identity free others to do the same?\n\nThrough reflection\, co
nversation\, and prayerful practice\, we will create sacred space to uncov
er what grounds us\, what calls us\, and how we are bound together in God
’s work. Come ready to be nourished\, encouraged\, and surprised by what
emerges.\n\nReading the book beforehand may enrich your experience\, but
it is not required for participation!\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nNovember 13\nThe R
ev. Liz Embler-Beazley \, Co-led by Heather Kemp Yoga Instructor/Owner of
Yoga Rouge\n\n&nbsp\;\nThe Gift of Presence\n\nOur world is full of distra
ctions and to-do lists that exhaust and drain us. We are always in a rush
or hurry these days. Let's slow down\, find stillness\, and silence so tha
t we can reconnect with God\, community\, and our true/inner selves. This
day will focus on the gift of being present with opportunities to sit quie
tly\, move with intention\, worship with our bodies\, and pray in solitude
and in community. Please wear comfortable clothing. Yoga Mass will be off
ered\, so please bring a yoga mat and blocks if you would like to use them
. No yoga experience whatsoever is required!\n\n\n\nDecember 11\nThe Rev.
Annie Knazs-Jung\nAn Advent Perspective: A Woman's Sacred "Yes!" to Spirit
ual Journeys of Courage\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nJoin Rev. Annie Knazs Jung\, Rector
of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church &amp\; School\, New Orleans as we explor
e several women's courageous spiritual journeys\, including Mary &amp\; El
izabeth\, in the lens of Advent Season. Rev. Annie will also share her rec

 sacred "Yes!" at a time.\n\n\n\nJanuary 8\nKristen Strickland\, Certified\

ritual practice and biblical reflection. In this hands-on workshop\, parti
cipants will bake traditional bread rolls while taking a spiritual journey
of discovery of the sacred in the ordinary\, reflecting on scripture\, li
fe\, faith and transformation.\n\nNo baking experience is necessary—just
an open heart and a willingness to slow down\, reflect\, and savor the pr
ocess. Each participant will take home fresh bread\, a deeper appreciation
for the spiritual rhythms found in life's simplest acts and a renewed per
spective on the spiritual significance of our daily bread. Please bring yo
