Second Thursday Women Gather in Community
Back by popular, we will again gather on Thursdays from 9AM-2PM to explore different topics with different facilitators. Participants will have a chance to explore different avenues of spirituality, while developing and building community and connection. Come for one or any number you choose. All are welcome!
To feel closer to God and others, to build community, to grow spiritually—all require practice. If we pursue these things only sporadically, it is hard to build the life we say we want. We are always God’s beloved, but to feel that way requires us to make time for spiritual growth. This series, just for women, will be offered at the Solomon Center on the second Thursday of each month from October to May and will offer different modalities for spiritual practice and opportunities to connect with other women seeking to grow spiritually.
Fees $50 per session (must register by the Thursday before each session) Lunch is included.
Package discount $350 (for the package discount please call Tammy Wyllie at 985-748-6634)
Would you like to give yourself an extra gift? Contingent upon availability--if you would like to spend the night before or after the session, there is a discounted room rate of $130 (single) and $85(double). If the center is providing breakfast or supper for another group, you may be able to purchase it for an additional fee of $15 for breakfast and $ 19 for supper. Reservations for meals must be made at least 7 days before the event. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the lodge, so you may bring your own food.
October 9 | The Rev. Canon Morgan MacIntire | Strength to Strength:
Getting Clear About Your Identity, Your Call and Your Connections
In her memoir Marrow, author Elizabeth Lesser shares the profound journey she undertook following her sister Maggie's cancer diagnosis. She chronicles the inner battles they faced—together and apart—as they prepared for a life-saving bone marrow transplant. Woven throughout are powerful themes of identity, purpose, and connection as each sister discovers deeper truths about herself and the other. As women of faith, we hold a unique call to support, uplift, and renew one another in ministry and in daily life. Yet that instinct is often interrupted by inner doubts—feelings of inadequacy, imposter syndrome, jealousy, scarcity, insecurity…the relentless inner monologue. How do we quiet the voices that deceive? How do we summon the courage to do the inner work? And how can gaining clarity about our own call and identity free others to do the same? Through reflection, conversation, and prayerful practice, we will create sacred space to uncover what grounds us, what calls us, and how we are bound together in God’s work. Come ready to be nourished, encouraged, and surprised by what emerges. Reading the book beforehand may enrich your experience, but it is not required for participation!

The Gift of Presence
Our world is full of distractions and to-do lists that exhaust and drain us. We are always in a rush or hurry these days. Let's slow down, find stillness, and silence so that we can reconnect with God, community, and our true/inner selves. This day will focus on the gift of being present with opportunities to sit quietly, move with intention, worship with our bodies, and pray in solitude and in community. Please wear comfortable clothing. Yoga Mass will be offered, so please bring a yoga mat and blocks if you would like to use them |

February 12 | Mary Erickson, Seminarian | The Spirituality of Breadmaking: Life is What You Bake It
Join us for an enriching day where the ancient art of breadmaking becomes a pathway to spiritual practice and biblical reflection. In this hands-on workshop, participants will bake traditional bread rolls while taking a spiritual journey of discovery of the sacred in the ordinary, reflecting on scripture, life, faith and transformation. No baking experience is necessary—just an open heart and a willingness to slow down, reflect, and savor the process. Each participant will take home fresh bread, a deeper appreciation for the spiritual rhythms found in life's simplest acts and a renewed perspective on the spiritual significance of our daily bread. Please bring your own apron.
